The workshop will review a range of strategies for evidence-based practice (EBP) with children and adolescents, including: motivational interviewing, family and youth engagement and empowerment, “modular” intervention for common disorders (Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, and Conduct Problems), and working effectively with schools and assisting teachers with classroom interventions.  The presentation will emphasize user-friendly approaches that help make EBP more achievable.  In the presentation, Dr. Weist will be joined by colleagues from the School Mental Health Team at USC, including post-doctoral fellows, Drs. Joni Splett and Melissa George, leading special educator, Elaine Miller, and advanced doctoral students, Abby Bode, Emily Mancil, Heather McDaniel and John Terry.
